There are so many wonderful places in Paris that it is easy to miss some of those lesser known spots, many of which are just as beautiful, or have just as much history, as the most popular sights. This is the case with the Place des Vosges: although is the city’s oldest square, is hardly known to visitors. For me, though, it was one of the most special places in Paris. I recommend a wander in the gardens and then having something to eat in one of the charming cafes around the square.
